This is definitely not the best of
time for Nollywood and her teeming practitioners. Just few months after the hugely
circulated ailment of Nollywood veteran, Pa Kasumu, another respected actor, Olumide
Bakare also known as ‘Chief Koko’ is reportedly down with a heart related
ailment.
Insiders very close to the thespian
alleged that the ailment is serious and that the actor recently confided in
close associates that he was weak and could not do anything with his entire body.
While confirming his health
challenges, Bakare stated: “I’m weak; I cannot do anything for now. I’ve also
not been able to work for a while now as a result of this illness, so I’m calling
on well-meaning Nigerians to support me.”
Sources further disclosed that the
actor had been in and out of the hospital and was recently relocated to Ibadan
since the ailment started. The actor once confessed that he started smoking
marijuana at the age of 15.
Meanwhile, with tears in their eyes,
several of his colleagues, are already praying for his quick recovery and also
calling on kind hearted Nigerians to come to the aid of one of their own.
