Why Toke Makinwa’s 12 years romance crashed

After several months of speculations, the troubled 12 year-old romance of popular Rhythm FM OAP Toke Makinwa with her Abuja-based fitness trainer, Maje Ayida, finally collapsed like a pack of poorly arranged cards.

Toke dropped hints of the end to their relationship in a series of cryptic tweets (on twitter) dripping with copious allusions that all was not well again between herself and her tall, dark-skinned lover of many years.
“I’m about to dive into the ocean. Amma try to swim for something bigger than me,” was her faintest painful hint at her turbulent emotional crisis. In a viral interview, the OAP voiced out, “I was once in a long term relationship with Maje Ayida and it has come to an end. I think it’s unfair for me to speak about our relationship because he is not here to defend himself. 

She added, “He is an amazing guy but it was not meant to be. It’s strange being single again but I am taking it one step after the other. One of the mistakes I made in my last relationship is that we dated for a long time. They were amazing years but they were also 12 long years. When you are faithful to someone, know what you can tolerate.”
On his part, Maje has taken solace in concentrating on his fitness job and his radio show on online platform, igrooveradio.com. Insiders have ruled out any possibility of re-union between the two estranged lovebirds.

However, a very reliable insider has fingered infidelity as the main reason the already shaky affair crashed.

Another reason was the fact that they live very far from each other and hardly see themselves regularly, thus leading to mutual suspicions from both parties.
