Breaking News! Daar Communications, AIT, FRCN, DSBS, others owe NBC...Maybe yanked off air soon for illegal operations

The Emeka Mba-led National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) recently published the names of broadcast stations whose licenses have since expired, but are still operating illegally without renewal or payment of statutory fees and levies.
SHOWBIZPLUS findings, revealed that Raymond Dokpesi-led Daar Communications, owners of AIT, is top on the list of those stations owing NBC and operating illegally in Nigeria.
Others on the long list of debtors published in the public notice entitled: Notice of Sanctions on Defaulters  against the NBC Act, include: Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Delta State Broadcast Services (DSBS), Edo State Broadcasters Limited, Zuma Radio Limited, Kiss FM among other states and privately owned stations.

According to the apex regulatory agency in the broadcasting sector: "NBC wishes to inform all broadcast stations that repeated grace periods given to every licensee to settle all outstanding licence and other statutory fees and levies have expired...The Commission hereby publishes the names of the stations in default, which will be followed by the enforcement of appropriate sanctions against such stations in accordance with the NBC Act, Cap N11, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria..."
