What would have been a national tragedy was averted yesterday when policemen rescued former Anglican Primate, Jasper Akinola from suspected kidnappers in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The police also rescued the primate's daughter alongside his driver at Joga-Iboro, a border town in Benin Republic, after a fierce gun battle. The rattled gunmen later fled in the clergy's SUV.
