Determined that its consumers have the best always, Nigeria’s
leading Malt brand, Maltina, from the stable of Nigerian Breweries Plc, feted those
that thronged the city of Port-Harcourt for the annual colourful CARNIRIV which
took place recently. Noted for promoting dance and family bonding, its stand was a beehive of heightened activity as visitors
had a feel of the recent dance steps in town.
Renowned for sharing happiness, the vivacious Maltina Pavilion
- situated at the Liberation Stadium, Elekahia Port-Harcourt - was filled with
fun and excitement. Consumers were treated to good music, free Maltina drinks
and tasty barbeque much to their delight.
The
high point of the carnival was the mini Maltina Dance Competition (MDA) which
saw dancers from different age groups contest for amazing prizes. At the end of
the contest, 17 years old Gbenga Awokoya who hails from Ogun state, emerged
overall best dancer carting home a brand new generating set. Awokoya who has
been dancing for eight years said “Winning a brand new generator from Maltina today
is just great. I did not know I would win. My parents will be so happy to see
this.”
Speaking
at the carnival, Assistant Brand Manager, Maltina, Diekoye Oyeyinka, said this
is the brand’s way of sharing happiness with its consumers. “The Carnival was
really fun. It was exciting seeing people come out and dance and have a good
time. Maltina decided to be part of the show so that we can share happiness
with people in their comfort zone which is what the Maltina brand stands for.
Maltina is a very family oriented brand. It is all about sharing happiness.
Carnivals such as this are a very good way for Maltina to also share happiness
with people. Maltina feels it is very important to connect with our consumers
wherever they are.”
He
added that Maltina will continue to share happiness and put smiles on the face
of consumers wherever they may be.
The
audience went into frenzy when they were treated to a live dance performance by
reigning MDA champions, the Briggs family.
Speaking
after an awesome performance, Sotom Briggs, family representative for the
Briggs family said, “We are happy to be part of this Carnival with Maltina. We
are excited at the reception our home crowd gave us. It’s just awesome. Since
we won MDA 7, our lives have changed a lot. As a result of our success most
people are now interested in learning how to dance. I’m now a dance instructor. I’m trying to
reach out and help develop dancers. I’m so glad Maltina gave us such a platform
which we are leveraging now to change other peoples ‘lives. We are like stars
now. Anytime we go out, people always want to identify with us.”
The
second position went to Stanley Eze, a 15 year old, JSS2 student of Eleka
Secondary School. He was rewarded with a brand new Home Theatre. “I started
dancing when I was a kid”, he said “my elder brother taught me how to dance. I
feel very good right now and I’m happy I
won a home theatre. I have never won anything this big. Maltina has really made
me and my family happy this season.”
A
vibrant dancer, 45 year old, Mrs. Chika Brown, dazzled the audience with her
sublime skills which earned her the third position. Mrs. Brown, a teacher who
hails from Bonny, took home a brand new Plasma Television Set. She stressed
that “dancing runs in my blood. I feel very happy winning this Plasma TV.
Maltina has really made me and my family happy this season. The truth of the
matter is that my children and I drink Maltina a lot and I believe we have been
rewarded for our patronage.”
It would be recalled that Maltina
was also a part of the annual Lagos Carnival which took place earlier in the
year. The high point of the Lagos Carnival 2013 was the Flash mob performance organized
by Maltina which remains the biggest Flashmob in Nigeria.
