Chime & Clara |
Clara, the freed wife of embattled Enugu State governor, Sullivan Chime, has finally opened up on the many evil her then husband did to her, during her forced imprisonment in the State’s Government House.
Speaking, in her first major
interview after regaining her freedom, Clara, who also denied having any mental
challenge as earlier claimed by Chime, insisted her estranged hubby
deliberately made her go through emotional, mental and physical tortures.
Rejuvenated Clara also disclosed
that in her five years of agonizing marriage to Chime, she tried escaping four
times but was caught and brought back to her apartment by Chime’s security aides.
In her exact words:
“When I got married to him in 2008,
never at any time did I envisage that this kind of ordeal would happen to me…He
made me stop work and the mental ordeal started after our marriage. Once he
married me, he changed and the mental torture started gradually until it came
with force. My situation was a case of domestic violence. It was terrible and
terrifying,” she disclosed.
Clara who made it clear that she had
separated from Chime, further announced that she would soon commence divorce
proceedings as well as fighting for the custody of their only son.
In a related development, an angry
and disappointed citizen of Enugu State, Ozo Christopher Ogbu, has taken
eccentric Chime to the cleaners. In a recent damning public report by Ogbu,
entitled “seven sins of governor Chime”, the author accused the helmsman of his
state of ingratitude, inflation of contracts, contracts sharing, money
laundering, human rights abuse, poor workers welfare and perjury.
