audiences now get a better viewing experience with the expanded number of new
channels across a range of genres. In 2013,MultiChoice Nigeria launched a total
of 13 channels which include three M-Net Series Channels, M-Net Movies Zone,
Fox, Ebony Life, Telemundo, Hip TV, Spice TV, CBS Action, CBS Drama, JimJam and
MGM. One of the channels that has taken audiences by
storm is the first telenovela-dedicated channel, Telemundo, a genre which has proven to be a hit with DStv
subscribers. TLC Entertainment, which used to be known as Discovery TLC is also
keeping subscribers entertained with programming from the international queen
of talk, Oprah Winfrey’s network, OWN.
As a business born and bred in Africa, celebrating Africa is a key
priority for the business. In
partnership with Africa Magic, MultiChoice Africa celebrated a new milestone
with the launch of the annual inaugural AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards in
March2013? The awards recognize and
reward proudly African film and television talent. There was also an exclusive
broadcast of the 50th African Union celebrations held in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia, and was screened live onthe DStv’s events channel.

Brother Africa, which broke a number of records especially on the show’s social

Brother The Chase far exceeded that of previous seasons.
The

next-generation PVR decoder - the DStv Explora. This move represents an exciting new era for
