Little wonder, she has always graced entertainment events in style and sophistication.
From music concerts to movie premieres, the appearance of the likable First Lady is always one of the high points of most entertainment gatherings. Her latest appearance was at the unveiling of Hello Nigeria Magazine, which she stormed with smiles and charm. The Dame of Entertainment who came midway through the magazine’s launch felt at home and mingled with entertainers in attendance.  As a political figure, her presence at the launch might be something out of the norm, but for entertainment buffs, the First Lady's glamour at the magazine launch was a usual sight in Lagos.
Speaking briefly to EE at the event, Dame Fashola who was brimming with smiles explained why she likes gracing showbiz events regularly.
“I love showbiz, I love entertainment. As the mother of the state I get invites to come for these events and I like honouring them. Our entertainers are the main shinning lights of our country, so I love supporting them,” she disclosed.
From music shows such as Tuface’s Away and Beyond Concert, Wizkid’s Superstar Concert, to comedy events like Yaw’s Last Molue show, Igos’ Comdey show and AY Live, her frequent appearances at these showbiz gatherings, she avowed was borne out of her love for entertainment. “I would have been a musician,” she added with a smile. “Apart from always trying my best to honour these invitations and encouraging these young people, it is also fun being here. It is fun listening to music and dancing” she revealed.
The Lagos State First Lady along with her husband Governor Fashola have developed and nurtured good relationships with entertainers. As a means of connecting to the youths, the First citizens of the state of aquatic splendor have always maintained an open door policy to some privileged entertainers and showbiz personalities that are very close to them.
Stars like Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Segun Arinze and other celebrities visited and sent solidarity messages to the family when the Governor lost his dad some months ago.
Recently, the Governor chose Nigerian Hip-hop star MI as ambassador of his energy conservation campaign. “We are the father and mother of entertainers. They are our children. They do us proud on a daily basis, so we are proud of them,” Dame Fashola maintained.
