Although, Nollywood screen goddess, Rita Dominic has been romantically linked with several rich and famous Nigerians in the past, her recent closeness to Chelsea FC star and Super Eagles playmaker, Mikel Obi, is already setting tongues wagging within and outside Nigeria.
Reliable insiders squealed to Entertainment Express that she was spotted hanging out with the
midfielder inside a London bar, in a very intimate manner, thus sparking rumours of an affair.

In fact, while confirming the alleged romance
between Mikel and Rita Dominic, our Nollywood source in Lagos who does not want
her name in print, disclosed to SHOWBIZPLUS
that there are strong indications that something has been brewing between
them before the London outing.
“This rumour did not start today. It’s been going on for long. This is not
the first time Rita is visiting Mikel in London. There is no smoke without
fire. I even heard that her recent visit was on Mikel’s bills and they’ve been
together all through before he left for Nigeria few days ago. They were behaving like real lovers and were so, so into each other throughout their stay together in London. I saw the romantic side of Mikel while with Rita in London”, squealed this insider.
In a swift reaction, a source close
to Mikel in London denied the romance rumour even as he admitted that they had “mad
fun” in London before he departed for Abuja on Tuesday to team up with the
Super Eagles ahead of this weekend’s decisive 2014 World Cup qualifier match
against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.
“If I deny to you that Mikel and Rita Dominic met in London then I am a
blatant liar but I don’t think there is any big deal about it’’, he noted. “All
I can tell you is that they had a nice time together but it would be a wrong
notion for people to start insinuating that Rita is positioning herself for a
romantic affair with Mikel. Before man and God, there is nothing going on
between two of them because that day was actually the first time Mikel was
meeting Rita Dominic one on one.
Rita is not only a big fan of Chelsea but Mikel too, while Mikel is also a
big fan of Rita. It was a wonderful encounter for them after which it was
rounded off with a dinner at one of the best hotels we have here in London. To
be sincere with you, there was nothing more than that.’’

Interestingly, both Dominic and Obi are still single and stylishly searching for their missing ribs.
The Nollywood sexpot recently claimed in an interview that the media
destroyed her past relationships and would because of that not flaunt her lover
before the media at the moment.
“I don’t like talking about my
personal life because some years ago, I was in this relationship that became
public, and the press killed it! The relationship didn’t work out because of
the press as they put a lot of pressure on it’’, She lamented in a recent online interview she granted.
At just 26, Mikel has been under serious pressure from his parents to pick a
responsible Igbo girl for marriage. According to his elder brother, Ebele Obi.
“Inasmuch as we want my brother to marry as soon as possible, he won’t marry a
white lady or a foreigner no, no, no! We cannot advise him to do that knowing
full well what it involves.
We’ll make him realise that if he gets married to a foreigner, whatever
comes out of the marriage, he should be prepared to take it in good faith. I
wouldn’t want my brother to be a victim of a failed marriage. We want the best
for him and if he is having a relationship with a foreigner, he should stop at
that. My parents have told him that whenever he is ready for marriage, he
should come down home and pick a wife of his choice’’.
It however remains to be seen whether Obi and Dominic’s alleged affair would take them to the next level,
only time will surely reveal the truth. Early this year, the former Lyn Oslo of
Norway ace was reportedly rumoured to have married his long time girlfriend and Delta
soap queen, Princess Sandra Uche Okagbue. But they both denied the reports claiming
they were just old friends and had no intention to get married.
