MultiChoice rewards loyal customers to commemorate 20th anniversary

MultiChoice, Nigeria’s leading provider of premium pay-TV on the DStv and GOtv platforms, in furtherance of its effort at enhancing the value subscribers derive from its services, has announced winners of various prizes in the first draws of the MultiChoice Nigeria 20th anniversary promo. The draws were held at the SuperSport Studio, Billings Way, Oregun, Lagos, October 07, 2013.


Eighteen lucky subscribers were drawn from a pool of thousands who qualified for the draws. Two lucky subscribers, BabanMallam Mohammed Kamilu and Mr Emmanuel Igoche, each won a ticket for a couple to attend the 2014 Grammy Awards in the United States of America. The ticket allows the winners to also travel with their spouses.

“MultiChoice is about providing value for our customers. This we have done consistently in the last 20 years without fail,” said John Ugbe, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria. We will continue to reward loyalty to the brand and ensure that we keep up the services that endear us to our subscribers through excellent programming and premium content on both the DStv and GOtv platforms, Mr Ugbe added.

He promised that MultiChoice will continue to avail its subscribers home entertainment of the highest quality in sports, news, entertainment and documentary. Investment in building capacity of Nigerians to produce content that can be consumed globally will continue.

“In the last 20 years, we have invested significantly in local content production as well as platforms for promoting Nigerian content to a pan-African and global audience. The high definition studios which we built in Lagos, the first in sub-Saharan Africa, led to the production of hit programmes like Tinsel, 53 Extra, Jara, among many others. The high level and strategic investments in education, sports such as football and basketball, have helped to enhance capacity across many sectors, contributing to socio-economic development,” said Mr. Ugbe. 

Other prizes won at the draw include: One year free subscription on GOtv plus bouquet for four subscribers; GOtv decoders for four subscribers; N200, 000 for four subscribers, and Walka 7 Handheld mobile devicesfor four subscribers. The drawswas witnessed by Mrs Ibilola Akinla, Verification consultant, Alexander Forbes Consulting; Mr Tam Tamunokonbia, Head, Lagos office, Consumer Protection Council (CPC) and Mrs Chioma Afe, Marketing Manager, DStv


Segun Fayose, Head of Public Relations, MultiChoice Nigeria, urged Nigerians to take advantage of the on-going promo in order to win exciting prizes ranging from trips to 2014 Grammy Awards, trips to Formula One finals, Trips to watch the NBA (basketball) in the US, tickets to Wimbledon Tennis in the UK, a weekend at SunCity in South Africa, GOtv and DStv products and services, as well as cash rewards. “Many more winners will be drawn in the weeks ahead, as the company has offered to reward at least 20 subscribers from each category of the promo. To qualify for the prizes, all a subscriber has to do is pay three-month subscription either for DStv or GOtv services,” added Mr Fayose.
