Afro-beat King Femi Kuti and Yinka Davies have expressed their joy at being selected as the acts to headline this year’s edition of the MUSON Jazz festival 2013 which happens on October 19 with a promise to give superlative performances. “Expect the best from me on October 19 at the Jazz Festival. Even though it’s also in the middle of FELABRATIONS you can still expect a fireworks performance from me and the positive force band! It’s going to be lots of fun and excitement!” a beaming Femi told the press during a press conference last week in Lagos which was held at the Agip Hall of the MUSON Centre and also on an igrooveradio.com radio interview with the festival producer Ayoola Sadare of Inspiro productions.
Corroborating Femi, vocal power house, Yinka Davies added: “I’m so excited coming back on the MUSON platform. It’s not the first time for either of us and I want to call on fun seekers and lovers of jazz and jazz related music to come out and hang out with us on the 19th of October as we treat them to good music.”
Meanwhile, it’s a double for the organizers of the annual MUSON Jazz Festival as this year’s edition coincides with the 30th anniversary of the MUSON. According to the organizers, MUSON clocks 30 on October 25 and so this year it would be a celebration of Perfection in The Arts as the annual festival holds from 17 to 27 of October at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
