Another new, exciting and fully loaded edition of Sokoto Today, a
quarterly publication of the State’s Ministry of Information is out and already
making waves within and outside the seat of the Caliphate.
The 82-page all colour, all gloss bumper publication, showcases and
highlights the numerous giant strides of hard working and amiable Governor
Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto State among other interesting and
contemporary issues.
While welcoming readers on board, the editor-in-chief of Sokoto Today and
the State’s Commissioner of Information, Nasir Danladi Bako said, “the
machinery of the State’s government developmental roller coaster has increased
not only in pace, but in tremendous momentum.”
He added that Wamakko had urged members of his cabinet to work harder and
ensure great emphasis was placed on the completion of all ongoing projects in
all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA).
The
edition, which also commemorates the seventh anniversary of the Wamakko
administration features several completed projects with colourful images to
further drive home their impacts.
Some of
the land mark projects that were specially captured in this painstakingly
designed edition were the first phase of the Sokoto State University and the 20
million Gallon Asare Water Scheme.
It further
showcased with lovely images, the private visit of ex governor of Bayelsa
State, Timipre Sylva to Sokoto, where he also found time to inspect some of
Wamakko’s developmental and people oriented projects.
Elated
Silva visited and inspected the 30 megawatts Independent Power Project
alongside the Murtala Muhammed Hospital located at Ungwar Rogo.
Also in
this edition, you will read about the special visit of the new American
Ambassador, Mr. James Entwistle, to the home of the Caliphate.
Cerebral Bako
and his editorial team creatively ensured that His Excellency’s visit to Dakar,
Senegal, where he was among the VIPs that graced the African Union Dialogue on
Good Governance, was graciously reported and duly documented for posterity.
Even
Wamakko’s visit to the Kenana Sugar Factory in the White Nile State of Sudan was
another menu proudly served in this publication.
Wamakko’s
historic visit to the British Parliament in Westminster, London, where he spoke
on the importance of Leadership in Nigeria after amalgamation, is a must read

The above

Kudos should also be given to Bako and his team for painstakingly and
professionally packaging this seventh anniversary edition that is very rich in
news and images, but above- all, well planned and aesthetically designed in
line with global best practices.
