An explosion has struck a public
health college in Kano State, the BBC reports in a news monitored by
SHOWBIZPLUSng.
The explosion, which hit the Kano
School of Hygiene, left at least eight people dead.
Coordinator, National Information
Centre, Mike Omeri, confirmed the explosion and the number of causalities.
Kano is known to have been targeted
in the past by the radical Islamist group Boko Haram, which aims to create an
Islamic state in northern Nigeria.
Three states in the north are under
a government-imposed state of emergency following years of militant attacks.
On twitter, one Seyi Peters tweeted:
“The bomb exploded at the School of Hygiene, BUK road, Kano.”
