Masondo, Kaestli, Gain, TeeMac, Fadabasi, Ara, others to dazzle @ Lagos Jazz Fest

TeeMac set to rock at Lagos Jazz Fest
Palpable excitement is already building as Inspiro Productions, the organizers of the Lagos International Jazz Festival recently announced a non-stop two-day date, May30 and 31, 2014, for the forthcoming fiesta.
According to a signed statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng, Inspiro CEO and festival director, Ayoola Sadare said they are still committed to positioning the event as Nigeria’s Premier Jazz Festival designed to offer visitors and residents in Lagos world class entertainment.

"The festival is also poised to become a major event on the Nigerian Tourism calendar and will attract jazz and contemporary music lovers to the country. Our long term goal is to establish Lagos as a Jazz Tourism destination alongside cities like Cape Town, Montreal, Montreux, New Orleans, London and Tokyo among others which are significant on the global Jazz tourism calendar and have hundreds of thousands of people visit each year and experience the cities and enjoy good music. Lagos as a Megacity is not going to be left out and will surely become a Jazz and music Mecca in the near future.’’

Excited Sadare spoke further: “ The Jazz Festival is not just another show but a tourism brand with the potential to boost the image of the country, and add to the GDP of the state and Nigeria as a whole when properly developed. We see it as our social responsibility project for our dear nation Nigeria.”
He also disclosed that this year’s line-up has a few international acts.
''But we have also chosen a significant number of the Megacity’s authentic Jazz and Jazz musicians. We chose to bring a few international musicians to Lagos not to the detriment of our home based musicians who put the Nigerian flavour into the genre.  This is what tourists want to see when they visit a destination city to attend festivals. It also is a good platform to spot future stars in an organic setting and have them interact with their international peers”.

Though being relaunched after a brief hiatus, Inspiro is leveraging on its pedigree as the producers in recent years of successful events such as: Smooth 98.1FM’s luxury concerts, MUSON Jazz Festivals, Bayelsa International Jazz Festivals, NAIJAZZ festivals, The International Jazz Day celebration and Tale Of two African cities (Lagos-Joburg) project among others.
"Our partnership with reputable organizations will also ensure the successful relaunch and sustainability of the event.”

The festival will also have the following adjunct value added events like Jazz & amp; Music Workshops (music business management), Master Classes, Jazz Photography Exhibition.
Meanwhile, this year’s lineup Jazz promises to be engaging with performances from big names like: Victor Masondo (SA), Beat Kaestli, Bright Gain, Tee Mac, Eko Brass Band, Fadabasi, Daniel Bankole, Dotun Bankole, Ara, Ruby and a host of others.
The event holds at the nation’s cultural hotspot, Freedom Park and this year’s edition is by invitation only.
