Lagos stands still as Chronicles of Ushbebe holds

Ice Prince and Ushbebe on stage

SHOWBIZPLUSng can authoritatively report that lovers of classy entertainment, the crème of the entertainment industry and a myriad of media converged on the Shell hall of MUSON Centre on Sunday to revel in the first edition of The Chronicles of Ushbebe which was organised by Priderock Entertainment.

The show, which has joined the enviable league of shows that have sold out the prestigious event venue, lived up to its billing as guests had an exhilarating experience from the potpourri of activities that popular On-Air Personality and CEO of Priderock Entertainment, Ushbebe, put together for their enjoyment.
The night began with a series of video skits culled from the flagship television program of the brand with the same name. The show quickly segued into live performances from the impressive list of entertainers which included Ajebo, Pencil, Seyilaw, Funnybone, Helen Paul, Ay, Gordons, Princess, Solid Star, Ice Prince, Kcee, Iyanya and Sean Tizzle to name a few.
Living up to his billing as a top-notch comedian and one of the most talented amongst the new wave of comedians in the country, Ushebebe’s performance was a mirthful potpourri of comedic grace as he handled the guests with a matured finesse that belied his age. He did a series of jokes about marriages drawing from his personal experience. His discourse on marriage had the audience in stitches. According to him “dem no tell me say marriage na football field wei the game no de finish, I be think say na monkey post”.
Other notable performances of the night were those of Ay, who was credited with being Ushbebe’s mentor, Maleke who had not been seen in the Lagos comedy circuit for some years and of course the sizzling performances by Sean Tizzle, Ice Prince, Iyanya and Kcee.
Guests attested to the quality of the show and praised the comedian for being able to present a fine blend of creativity and logistics that saw them enjoying themselves in a pleasant environment. According to Darlington Abuda who was one of the guests at the event “this is one of the few shows that I have really enjoyed myself. It seemed the promoters ensured that the hall was not too crowded and this made the show all the more enjoyable.”
In an era of both the hassles of work related stress and the unease that has plagued the nation, the event was an oasis that satiated its guests and laden with emotion Ushbebe thanked all those that supported him and enjoined them to be ready for an even greater package in 2015.
