has finally come the way of ailing movie producer and National President of the
Script Writers Guild of Nigeria (SWGN), Chike Bryan, who was diagnosed with
chronic renal failure.
He will be traveling to India for
a kidney transplant soon.
The association Bryan heads as president,
SWGN, confirmed receipt of a donation of N10m from the Presidency on
Monday.
The donation was announced on Saturday, May 24, at the AMAA
awards 2014 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State by the President of the Actors Guild of
Nigeria, Ibinanabo Fiberisima.
The money was received by the SWGN
on behalf of Mr. Bryan and in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of
Trustees of the AGN, Prince Ifeanyi Dike, the Vice Chairman, Emmanuel Ogugua
and President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, Fidelis Eweta, among others.
According to a statement credited
to a source from SWGN, serious arrangements are on ground to fly Bryan to India
for intensive medical care as soon as possible.
Bryan had been undergoing weekly
dialysis at the Igando General Hospital, Lagos, his condition worsened a few
months after he was diagnosed with the kidney disorder, which prompted his friends,
associates and colleagues to begin soliciting for financial support from
