Chibok Girls: Amaechi's wife criticised for indifference

Judith Amaechi
As the world and Nigeria's First Ladies mobilize efforts to secure the release of about 200 innocent Nigerian girls abducted by the Islamist sect, Boko Haram some three weeks ago, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter has noted with disdain the failure of the wife of Gov Chibuike Amaechi, Judith to lend voice to the clarion call.
The Party in a press statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng regretted that the wife of Gov. Amaechi clandestinely left the country with her children when the campaign to draw attention to the plight of the Nigeria's missing Girls was loudest, describing it as unmotherly.

More worrisome, according to the PDP, is that Mrs. Judith Amaechi has remained largely silent on the abduction of the Chibok School Girls.
The Party also wonders why Gov Amaechi who has always claimed to be bothered about national issues than anybody else does not see anything wrong with his wife's indifference and unconcern.
The PDP observes that Amaechi's feigned concern for the abducted girls and his proposed panacea to end insecurity in the State is a sharp contrast to his wife's trotting round the globe when her fellow women are mourning, calling the Amaechis a huge disappointment and pretentious.
Though not happy at Mrs. Amaechi's glaring disregard for an issue as important as the international concern for these kidnapped future mothers, the PDP said it's not shocked because this is not the first time the Rivers First Lady is displaying her self-centeredness, arguing it is in her character not to care about others.
The PDP recalls several occasions and events even in the State which required the intervention and prayers of the governor's wife but she still exhibited same unconcern.
"The world is also watching," the PDP remarked.
