Bez thrills as Glo Games Store unveils TVC



Bez

Bez Idakula, popularly known as Bez, is a quintessential showbiz man. He is talented, handsome, smooth, suave and a great singer. He is indeed a ladies’ man.
 Even though he has a number of great songs to his credit, it was the hit track “Stupid Song” that endeared Bez to millions of fans across the country.  Apart from having a great voice, Bez is a great entertainer and a delight to watch either on stage or on screen. He also cuts the picture of a perfect gentleman, almost effeminate.

 Now, contrast that with the picture of a mean-faced, bandana-wearing man, clad in a military combat attire, and firing away with an Uzi submachine gun. The man invades an enemy territory, taking the enemies down one after the other. That fearsome fighter turned out to be the same gentleman Bez. He has been transformed. It is indeed a sharp departure from the Bez television viewers are used to.
 The racy, action-packed clip makes the viewer temporarily forget he is watching a television commercial. So, while he is caught up in the frenzy and trying to fathom what is going on, there is a close up on Bez to reveal the artiste was only playing a video game from the comfort of his sitting room, with him as the main act in the game.
 And the hilarious part is that even the phone the big boy Bez was using was his younger brother’s phone as the boy soon comes in to demand for his handset. Bez is temporarily halted in his game. However, there is consolation as he collects his grandma’s phone in exchange for his younger brother’s phone and resumes his video game, winking away at the camera.
 This is the story of the 60 seconds television commercial of  Glo Games store, the new offer from national operator, Globacom.
 It was one of the assortment of ground-breaking products which were recently demonstrated before the prying eyes of ICT journalists and entertainment personalities mostly made up of Glo ambassadors.  Glo Games Store was among the products which received remarkable applause from the live audience.
