There will be a lot of exciting
moments as the seventh edition of West Africa’s musical reality show, Project
Fame, kicks off in Nigeria this June, this SHOWBIZPLUSng can sensationally reveal and report.
Starting in Benin, a concert and audition
are in the offing, during the first weekend of the month. The concert will
feature musical superstars such as Iyanya, Timaya, Wizkid, Kcee, Tiwa Savage,
Davido, Dr. Sid and other MTN ambassadors, including the reality show’s past
contestants.
Speaking with the last winner of the
show, Olawale Ojo, he said ‘the concert is going to be a convergence of musical
superstars’. The Lautech undergraduate, who will be performing at the concert,
also spoke about his new single, ‘Is Nothing’, and expressed optimism that his
fans will love it.
Moreover, concerts will also be held
in Ilorin and Lagos as a build-up towards the opening gala in July.
Expectations are however high among entertainment buffs in different parts of
Nigeria, especially at the locations.
In Lagos, students in schools like
Yabatech and Unilag are exceptionally excited as this year’s Project Fame’s
concert will be held on the mainland, a decision they said is ‘considerate and
worthy of commendation’. The concerts in Lagos and Ilorin, like Benin, will
also feature heavyweights in the Nigeria music industry.
This years’ edition of Project Fame
will be the most thrilling ever, according to the sponsor, MTN. The ICT and
telecommunications company revealed that the 13-week academy and performances
have been restructured and will feature a lot of African hip-hop moments.
Nigerian hip-hop superstars will be part of the show, as an entire week will be
dedicated to Tuface Idibia’s renditions. Also competitive renditions of D’Banj,
P-Square and more are part of what will make the season one of the most
exciting shows.
