N10 Billion Money Laundering: Jigawa gov’s sons still in EFFC custody

The two sons of Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Sule Lamido, who were arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for alleged N10 billion money laundering, are still in custody four days after being whisked away.

“They are still being interrogated,” disclosed Head of Media and Publicity at the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren.
Aminu and Mustapha Lamido were arrested by the EFCC in Kano on Thursday and were flown to Abuja in the early hours of Friday, by the operatives of the commission.
Aminu had on July 12, 2013, convicted by the Federal High Court in Kano, for failure to declare fully the sum of
$50,000, found in his possession on a journey to Egypt on December 11, 2012. He only declared $10, 000 to the Nigerian Customs Service.
