World Cup Fever: GOtv assures women, kids of quality entertainment

  June is finally here and as all roads lead to Brazil, general manager GOtv Nigeria, Mrs Elizabeth Amkpa has guaranteed women and kids of quality entertainment for the duration of the World Cup.

 

“The countdown to the world cup has begun and men are super excited about the forthcoming games. But women and children are also important clients of GOtv so we have carefully lined-up quality programmes for GOwomen and GOkids to ensure that they are just as entertained as men”, she told SHOWBIZPLUSng.

 

For GOtv’s female audiences, AfricaMagic premieres the first season of Footprints on weekdays at 7:00PM local time with weekend repeats at 7:00AM.  In Footprints, following the death of her husband, a young widow struggles to provide for her children. She also has to fight off greedy family members hiding under customs and tradition to perpetrate all kinds of evil.

 

June also sees the coming of ‘Someone’s Watching’ to Telemundo viewers. The telenovela kicks off with the return of Rodrigo Quintana, who left his friends following a murder and the hospitalisation of his ex- girlfriend Piedad Estévez.  His return is concerning to Julian, Piedad’s current boyfriend, as he fears that he will lose the woman he loves. Women can follow the romance, drama and suspense weekdays at 8:20 PM local time from 9 June.

 

Women can also tune to E! for the premiere of three new shows, Secrecret Societies of Hollywood on 5 June, The Escape Club on 22 June at and Worst Thing I Ever Wore on 26 June all airing at 8:00PM local time.

 

It’s Donald Duck’s birthday in June and kids can tune-in to celebrate with Donald and his family as Disney Junior is throwing a party for him over the weekend of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June. Disney Junior’s Donald-themed weekend kicks off the celebrations with lots of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse specials including a premiere episode entitled Donald Jr. Saturday, 7 June at 9:30AM local time.

Saturday’s festivities also include a great movie Ducktales: Treasure of the Lost Lamp on 7 June at 10:20AM. Other great shows airing in the party weekend include triple episodes of Quack Pack featuring the animated adventures of Donald’s mischievous nephews on Saturday, 7 June from 2:30PM.
