Makani Couture, a Fast rising Nigerian owned Fashion label, run by the Fashion Designer, Stephanie Chinelo Oduenyi, is a Brand that is set to take the fashion industry by storm.
To mark its 5th anniversary, a red carpet event held at City Lodge Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, on the 31st of July 2016. It saw various personalities, friends and family, grace the occasion in grand style. The event also saw various acts, ranging from music, to dance and comedy.
Makani couture showcased various collections and had an amazing exhibition stand, where she exhibited some of her works ranging from ready to wear collection, bespoke outfits, shoes and bags.
The runway event was split in two; the first, paradedher latest Ankara designs by an array of her models.The second phase, which was also thepeak of the event displayed a cross section of celebrities like Lolo1 of Wazobia FM, Nollywood actresses Uche Ogbodo, Scarlet Shotade, Chineye Uyanna, Chioma Igwe and also Wazobia FM OAP Uzo Ododoba take to the runway, showcasing Makani’s latest bespoke outfits.
The Makani@5 red carpet fashion event was a double hit, as it marked Makani Couture’s 5thanniversary and also doubled as the birthday of the CEO/Creative Director, Stephanie Chinelo Oduenyi. The event was anchored by TV personality Winifred Iguwa and Planet TV host Bennie Blaize.
Just recently, on Sunday 21st August 2016, Makani couture showcased an array of her African inspired collection at the “City People Ankara Show”. She alsowon the“Fastest Rising Brand of the Year” award at the same event.
