The Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oke-Afa, Magboro, Ogun State, recently held its 2013 Annual Harvest with the theme ‘Harvest of Divine Favour’.
The ceremony which began with a holy Mass that was officiated by the Parish Priest, Reverend Father Joseph Ogbebor, attracted dignitaries from within and outside the state, including comedians who stormed the church to thrill members and invited guests.
“Today’s harvest affords us the opportunity to thank the Almighty God for the gift of life and what he has done in our individual lives since last year’s harvest. Our prayer is that may the Lord of Harvest look kindly on the gifts of our hands and accept our thanksgivings,” an elated Father Ogbebor said during a chat.
“Last year’s harvest was held on a neighbour’s land, opposite the church, but thank God we are holding this year’s harvest in our own premises. We have every reason to thank God. We were somewhere yesterday; we are here today; and there is an indication that we are going to a higher place tomorrow,” the Harvest Planning Committee chairperson, Mrs. Caroline Nwankwo disclosed.
The memorable event which climaxed with a Bazaar was chaired by the publisher of Yes International Magazine, Sir Azuh Arinze and was anchored by comedians Elder O and D’ Lectura.
