The
Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter, Bro Felix Obuah,
happily commemorates with Christians in the State and all over the world as
they observe this year’s Easter celebration.
The PDP
Chairman, in a statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng, urges all Christian faithful to use the period to reflect on the
teachings of Christ Jesus, who came to sacrifice his life for the peace and
salvation of mankind, appealing that the message of the season should be
embraced by all believers to show more compassion, peace, tolerance, selfless services, devotion and love, and to be their brothers’ keeper.
“To demonstrate
our full acceptance of the message of Easter, we must submit ourselves to the
will and commands of our Lord Jesus Christ, whose plan for mankind is to be at
peace with one another and to inherit Eternal Life made possible through His death
and resurrection”, Obuah said.
The Chairman
also calls on Rivers people, particularly Christians to use the Easter
celebration to pray for the peace of the country and for the enthronement of
Good Governance in Rivers State, noting that the level of political desperation,
corruption, violence and insecurity exhibited by the present government in the
State, poverty and joblessness of employable youths call for intensive prayers
and fasting.
He
assured the people of the State of the commitment of the Peoples Democratic Party
to fully develop the State and initiate programmes aimed at rededicating the
already battered State to God and for the good of the people, charging them to
continue to be resolute in their faith without giving in to the pressure on
them by the Amaechi-led government.
