Excitement as AfricaMagic screens 45 new original films

 In September last year, entertainment powerhouse AfricaMagic announced the creation of its AfricaMagic Original Films (AMOF) initiative, an ambitious project that would see the pioneering brand invest to create dozens of brand new films. Just a month later, in October 2013, the first of these titles were screened on DStv. SHOWBIZPLUSng gathered that in a stunning decision, 45 brand new movie titles will be debuted exclusively on two AfricaMagic channels in one incredible month…also known as AWESOME APRIL!


Running in two parts throughout April 2014, DStv audiences can see a superb line-up of new AfricaMagic Original Films every weekend on AfricaMagic Entertainment (DStv channel 150/151), ensuring that Saturday and Sunday television viewing just got that much hotter. In addition, if that’s not enough sensational movie magic, then AfricaMagic (DStv channel 154) will be screening AfricaMagic Original Films titles every single day in April!

AfricaMagic Entertainment, available on DStv Premium, starts its AWESOME APRIL campaign in fine style this weekend, with two new AfricaMagic Original Film stitles on Saturday and two more on Sunday.

·         On Saturday April 5, tune in for Tomorrow (starring Genard Brian Ogola and Henry Ngogoyo)at 21:00 CAT, followed by Maid (starring Doris Simeon and Damilare Kuku)at 22:05 CAT. Then on Sunday April 6, check out Anita (Wole Ojo and Cecilia Agu) at 22:00 CAT and Stereotype at 22:50 CAT (Sylvia Oluchi andRina Daffy Monayajo).

·         Other actors on screen in April are: Louisa Sialo and Wanjiku Mburu in Miss Detective (April 12), Ivie Okujaye in The Top Spot (April 12), Chris Attoh in Stray Thoughts (April 13) along with Ashionye Michelle Raccah and Kenneth Okolie in Bump (April 13). On April 19, see Josh Mwai in Clandestine and Wale Adebayo in 11AM while on April 20, tune in for Lizz Njagah in Drift Beyond Conscience and Daniel Kanayo Daniel in Match Maker. Rounding off the month see Lydia Gitachu in Emergence (April 26) and IK Ogbonna plus Juliet Ibrahim in Blurred Lines (April 26). On April 27, Doris Simeon and Kelechi Udegbe headline Stopping Kloe, while Femi Branch is in the spotlight in The Cheating Experience.

For those audiences tuning into AfricaMagic (DStv channel 154), available on all DStv bouquets, there are AfricaMagic Original Films every Monday to Friday at 23:20 CAT, with 4 titles in total scheduled on Saturday and Sunday evenings.Audiences can catch more of their favourite film stars inOlive Branch, Home Coming, The Room, Prodigal, Hotel Hush, Maid of Honour,Tomi’s Got A Gun, Second Chances, Dilemma, The Men in Her Life, Perks of Proposal, The Vacation, Daylight News and My Other Mother to name a few.
