All is now set for the maiden edition of the Nigeria Elite Business Awards (NEBA), which holds in the evening of Saturday, November 9, at the posh Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Hugely powered by the Saint Obi-led Elite Business Africa Network (EBAN),
an Africa focused business oriented initiative developed to propagate
professionalism, innovation, adherence to corporate governance, probity, excellence
and global best practices across Africa, the forthcoming event promises to be glamorous
and star-studded.
In a recent chat with ACTION!, inside his posh Lekki, Lagos office,
cerebral Saint Obi, disclosed that EBAN organizes premium award events
that reward excellence among the most elitist businesses operating in Africa as
well as why they are celebrating corporate Nigeria with the maiden edition of
the award.
He further stated that the awards focus on
recognizing outstanding corporate behaviour within the award year with the hope
of helping to institutionalize commitment to excellence and innovation in
Africa's corporate environment.
“We believe that by rewarding excellence within the elite business
group we are helping to sustain excellence as a way of doing business in Africa and in turn build a better
continent. These brought about the creation of the prestigious Nigeria Elite
Business Awards (NEBA).”
Elaborating more, the revered thespian cum entrepreneur asserted that the
core essence of NEBA was to provide a neutral, unifying, classy and convivial
platform for elite businesses, business managers in Nigeria to fraternize, compete,
but most importantly, celebrate one another.”
In
his words, companies and individuals will win the following award categories at
the event, which would have the Vice President of Nigeria, Namadi Sambo,
attending as a special guest of honour.
“We have Company of the year, CEO of the year, Entrepreneur of the year, Life
Time Achievement of the year, Bank of the year, Insurance Company of the year, Shipping
& Marine Company of the year, Oil & Gas Company of the year, Telecoms
Company of the year, Consumer Electronics Company of the year and Foods &
Beverages Company of the year.
Dr.
Olusegun Aganga, the
Minister of Industry, Trade
and Investment is also expected at the event as a special guest, while renowned
economist, Professor Pat Utomi is the event’s keynote speaker.
Interestingly,
NEBA is also fused with a gala nite, tagged: Entertainment Extravaganza.
“This will
avail attendees a networking session, live music, comedy, African dance,
sumptuous local and continental cuisines, quality wines and non alcoholic
