Elegant stallion, Onyeka Onwenu has
again bagged another political appointment from the Federal Government of
Nigeria.
The veteran singer who has always
won the admiration of many Nigerians since her musical hit ‘One Love’ joined
the growing list of personalities in the entertainment industry who were
awarded with government appointments this 2013.
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
recently appointed her as the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the
National Centre for Women Development Abuja. Her new appointment took effect
from September 13, 2013.
Onwenu was one of the judges in the just concluded Glo X-Factor. In 2006, she won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a supporting role. Previously, she was the chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts.
Born in Onitsha, Anambra State on May 17, 1961, Onwenu is a Nigerian singer, actress and politician.
