Music-News.com had the pleasure of interviewing music legend Eddy Grant in North London.
The forthcoming 16th album ‘Plaisance’ will be out in 2017.
Eddy Grant will be guest of honour of on the evening of Monday 17th October for an extra special event seeing the switching on of the new illuminated sign to mark the completion of the £1million Electric Avenue refurbishment scheme.
Eddy Grant is one of a kind, a Guyanese-born British black artist that has across a fifty year career sold in excess of 20million records, released a staggering 15 studio albums, 13 compilation albums and 19 singles. He is the founding member of the British 1960s pop group The Equals, who had three UK Top 10 singles including the UK #1 “Baby Come Back” in 1968. The Equals have influenced many musicians, including The Clash who recorded a cover version of The Equals’ song “Police On My Back” for their album “Sandanista!”.
In his long career, Eddy has achieved a phenomenal five UK Top 10 singles with “I Don’t Wanna Dance” (a #1 single in five countries including the UK), “Do You Feel My Love”, “Electric Avenue” (original reached #2 in the UK and US, and the remix reached Top 10 in the UK in 2001), as well as “Gimme Hope Jo’Anna”. His album “Killer on the Rampage” reached the Top 10 in the US and the UK. Eddy has played every instrument on his records and is still making music with a singular creative vision, with ambition and determination, integrity and dignity, self-sufficiency and humour.
