A display of glamour and glitz with a mix of suspense will unfold
when Nollywood Movies Awards (NMA) formally reveals the much anticipated
nominees for the centenary edition, this SHOWBIZPLUSng can authoritatively
report.
The colourful occasion which
is the third edition of the prestigious awards holds this Saturday, September
20 at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island.
Organizers of NMAs have
dedicated this edition in commemoration of Nigeria’s 100 years Centenary in
celebration of the nation's long-standing film and movie industry.
The shortlist of contenders
in the 32 award categories including the Lifetime Achievement Award has been
carefully drawn after a general call for entries was announced for movies
produced, premiered or released between February 1 2013 and April 31,
2014.
NMA results will be deliberated
by a panel of credible judges led by Dr Kola Munis, chairman of the panel, who
alongside his team brings a high level of professionalism into the process.
In addition, the Popular
Choice Award nominees for Best Male and Female and Best TV and Web series will
be available online at (www.nollywoodmoviesawards.tv)
and via SMS short code portal to allow millions of Nollywood followers to cast
their votes.
