$9.3m private jet scandal: Angry entertainers condemn FG, berate Oritsejafor

Banky W
For failing to tell Nigerians the truth behind the recent seizure of the sum of $ 9.3m cash that was smuggled into South Africa in a private jet belonging to the President of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayo Oritsejafor  by two Nigerians and an Israeli, the Goodluck Jonathan-led Federal Government and CAN leader have come under heavy attacks from angry and disappointed entertainers.
The entertainers in their reactions, which was obtained by SHOWBIZPLUSng, while hailing the South African government for seizing and exposing the illicit funds, also urged them to prosecute those found wanting in the dirty deal that has brought global embarrassment to Nigeria.

Banky W (Musician)
Lawlessness and corruption have become our bane to the extent that we can extend it to other countries without expecting sanctions. I wonder why any reasonable person will carry so much cash all in the name of going to procure arms. I thought international purchases are done through banks using transfer instruments like letter of credit and the likes?

Jaywon (Musician)
I’m I dreaming or this is reality? Whom should I trust now? Jonathan, Pastor Oritsejafor, the man of God buying arms, ordinary citizens, PDP, retailers, road side Police, Man O War, Niger Delta Militants, Boko-Haram etc. Nigeria na wa for you.
Joel (Musician)
They have been caught and now it’s for the purchase of arms, if not the money would have been systematically lodged in some private accounts. Instead of our corrupt Government to allow the Government of South Africa to get to the bottom of it, they are bringing in pressure to bear on South African Government to release the money.
Gbenro Ajibade (Actor)
Every day is for the thief and one day is for the owner, make dem continue, der is God o!
Uti Nwachukwu (Presenter)
How could a constituted government engage in a transaction of this magnitude without following international due process and protocol is beyond my comprehension? All these excuses the Nigerian government is making are just hog wash. There are international standards in place for arms procurement between countries.
Koffi (Comedian)
This is a case of pure money laundering and no amount of claim by Nigerian Government can vindicate the victims because they are friends of a friend to the C-in-C. South Africa should confiscate the funds and send to their national treasury after investigation proves it to be fraudulent.
Gandoki (Comedian)
It is a thing of shame that Nigerian government can consent to this illegality, there is a procedure for transferring money abroad, why was the procedure breached. I believe a shady deal was involved in the whole process. God has once again exposed the gross corruption, sorry I mean mere stealing that characterizes President Jonathan’s administration.
DJ Spin’All (Disc Jockey)
Nigeria is the only country in the world where this type of pedestrian excuse could be made because Nigerians have demonstrated in the past how gullible we are. Our Daily Newspapers have continued to let us down in their inability to engage and practice investigative journalism.
Humility (Disc Jockey)
In fact, in a decent society Oritsejafor should by now stand aside as CAN president so as to concentrate on redeeming his name with this mess.

To be a comedian or in show business does not mean you have to be an idiot to the point of reigning insult on the person of CAN President for a matter you do not have proof that he was involved. Do your investigation first before commenting, this is not another comedy.
