N27bn fraud: Ochei’s Delta State governorship ambition in jeopardy

Ochei

SHOWBIZPLUSNG has reliably gathered that the governorship ambition of the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei, is currently in jeopardy, courtesy of a N27 billion fraud hanging precariously on his neck.
Elder statesman and Ijaw leader, chief Edwin Clark, had recently accused Ochei, whose company, Davnotch, handled the state’s Independent Power Plant (IPP) project at Oghara in Ethiope West  LGA, of having a hand in the disappearance of the over N27 billion budgeted for the project.
Therefore, Clark had warned Ochei not to join the governorship race in 2015, until he has cleared his name from the mess.

However, the embattled speaker, in Asaba recently denied involvement in any corrupt activity, saying that the project had reached completion stage.
Concerned insiders however countered his claims by further alleging that the site had been abandoned and over-grown with weeds, with nothing on the ground to show for the huge money expended so far on it.
