SHOWBIZPLUSNG can authoritatively reveal that this Saturday, April 5,
leading Nigerians drawn from the entertainment, corporate and academic sectors
will converge inside the Afe Babalola Auditorium, University of Lagos, to speak
and motivate youths on how to conquer fears and challenges in life.
With the theme: “No Excuses,’’ speakers expected at the Afresh Global
Foundation-powered programme include: Reuben Onwubiko, Bimbola Wright, Tunde
Obrimah, KC Victor, Prof. Sam Ayanlaja and Toyin Olamiji.
Interestingly, the famous Nollywood duo of Bimbo Manuel and Alex Lopez
are expected to storm the gathering which kick off at 10.a.m., as special
guests.
The high point of the Afresh Quarterly Youth programme dubbed ‘Growth Café,’
will be the musical performances and expressions from some physically
challenged but hugely talented youths.
They include: Axios Choral, Voice of Truth (a group of blind
entertainers) and Ebiere Pregge.
The programme, which is
aimed at encouraging youths, especially the physically challenged to aim for
the sky despite their conditions, will be hosted by Profs. Adisa Bello and
Ibidapo-Obe.
Shedding more light on ‘No
Excuses’, the prime mover of the programme and founder of Afresh Global, amiable
Nellie Onwuchekwa, disclosed that her passion for the youths, especially those
that are physically challenged and handicapped led to the birth of Afresh
Global Foundation.
“Basically, we want to
let people know with this programme that they have no excuses whatsoever to
fail or give up in life despite their conditions or challenges. No matter your
condition, always believe you can make it in life…”she submitted.
The University of Lagos,
Potter’s Outreach, Babcock University, GlaxoSmithKline and UAC are some of
those supporting the forthcoming event.
