Dakuku Peterside berated for misconduct at Budget Presentation

Dakuku
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers State chapter, has described the reported work-out by Member representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, during the 2014 Budget presentation by the Minister of Works to Members of the House Committee on Works, as ill-conceived, and negligence of legislative responsibility.
The PDP, in a press statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUS said that rather than staging a work-out, thereby denying the people his useful contribution and intervention in the issues contained in the presentation, the Honourable Member would have actively participated in the proceedings, like other members of the Committee, to ensure that the vexed issues and identified omissions (if any) were rectified accordingly.

The PDP regrets that Hon Peterside abandoned his responsibility at the time and forum he needed to act, regretting that by that action, the people of the State and the area he represents might not have another opportunity to correct the alleged abnormally in the content of the Budget on Works and Infrastructural development in the area.
The Party further observes that whatever was considered to have led to taking such action was not rational enough for Hon Dakuku Peterside to do so, as his input, hopefully, would have made some improvement in the Budget Appropriation as it concerns parts of the South-South region.
Hon. Peterside’s ill-conceived action in staging a work-out at the Budget presentation is one of the series of actions responsible for the alleged backwardness in terms of the development of the area.
The PDP believes that the Hon. Member, having the opportunity to serve in a government, headed by a listening and responsible Party (the PDP) at the centre, would have presented his case as expected, hoping that the government through the relevant Ministry would have respected his views and intervention.
The PDP strongly criticizes the shameful action of Hon. Peterside, which paints Rivers people black, and calls on him to apologize to the people or risk being recalled from the National Assembly.
