Wazobia FM On-Air-Personality, Steve Onu famously known as Yaw is a force to reckon with on radio.
The multi-talented dude hails from Awka in Anambra state, but was born in Lagos State on August 24, almost 40 years ago, at the Island Maternity Hospital.
He had his early life in Lawanson in Surulere Local Government Area. Yaw attended Osimoye Primary School also in Surulere and finished from Obele Primary School in same Sululere.
He later moved to St. Ann Secondary School also in Surulere, from where he proceeded to the Lagos State University, where he obtained a degree in Theatre Arts.
He is the seventh child in a family of 10 children.
As a young boy, this famous radio personality helped his mother to sell “ice water” and cold minerals at Yaba market after school.
But today, through dint of hard work and perseverance, he has risen to the pinnacle of his career, but still very humble and unassuming.
Yaw’s popular programme,“Make una Wake, has a cult like followership on radio every morning.
However, his first romance with fame came via the then popular but defunct TV series, “Flat Mates.’
