The Trials of Brother Jero, which was first produced in the dining hall at Mellanby Hall, University College, Ibadan, Nigeria, in April 1960 and written by 1986 Nobel prize for Literature winner, Prof. Wole Soyinka, is a light satiric comedy that takes aim at religious hypocrisy in the form of a charlatan, or fraud, named Brother Jero, who preaches to his followers on Bar Beach in Lagos, Nigeria.
Lovers of theatre converged at the location to experience a truly spectacular theatre show which was presented by the Live Theatre and directed by Kenneth Uphopho. The play paraded A-list Nigerian entertainers such as Jide Kosoko, Patrick Diabuah, Chigurl, Oreka Godis, Paul Morgan, Bola Haastrup Atitebi, EmmaohMyGod, Debbie Ohiri and a host of other bright talents.--Pulse.ng
