Excitement, applause as ‘One Lagos’ launches in grand style

To further open up the centre of excellence for tourism potentials and investment opportunities, the Lagos State Government is strategically poised to unveil the “One Lagos” brand, amid applause, glamour and razzmatazz.

Interestingly, this well applauded initiative currently enjoying the endorsements and blessings of leading Lagosians is in furtherance of His Excellency, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode’s determination to drive the State’s economy using Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment and Sports for Excellence.

In a chat with DAYLIGHT.NG, the Honourable Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Folorunsho Folarin-Coker, disclosed that the forthcoming “One Lagos” brand holds from Wednesday, July 27 to Friday, July 29, 2016.

Amiable and cerebral Coker, further revealed that ”One Lagos’’, which is already setting the state of aquatic splendour agog and serenading Lagosians, will glamorously and beautifully showcase the true spirit of Lagos through different creative expressions while leveraging on the City’s abundant soft power in an attempt to reverse the negative conversation while celebrating our people, places and the unique heritage of Lagos.

Shedding more light, fun-loving and workaholic Coker, posited that the brand will leverage on the best of the most populous black city, the second largest film industry on the globe, the richest City in Africa and the fashion, technological, design and aviation hub in Africa.

“One Lagos, has been painstakingly developed to promote the diverse multi-cultural heritage of Africa’s largest mega-city and showcase the vibrant energy of its people.

The “One Lagos” brand was conceived to drive economic growth across all communities in Lagos by ensuring that we take advantage of our population, its density, its wealth and its culture by focusing attention on community consumption to grow and deepen Lagos tourism assets, “he submitted.

Meanwhile, carefully and specially planned activities have been designed to herald the talk-of-the-town three-day action packed event.

Amazingly, ”One Lagos’’ has been packaged to thrill revellers endlessly and will feature exhilarating performances by top rated musical artistes, ribs cracking comedy shows, show stopping cultural displays, never-seen-before dance competitions, hot and sexy models on the fashion runways, exciting kids’ entertainment segments and more.

In order to further entrench the One ”Lagos brand’’ in the minds and hearts of Lagosians, Coker promised that the celebration will continue on a monthly basis with a series of scheduled events up until the celebration of Lagos State @ 50 and beyond.

”We want to change the face of Lagos with ”One Lagos” brand and we are calling and appealing to all well meaning Lagosians and friends of Lagos to support us and key into this laudable initiative,” Coker added.
