This is definitely not the best of time for one of Nigeria's most revered retired generals, TY Danjuma.
SHOWBIZPLUSng gathered that the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) of the Lagos State Police command recently charged a special assistant of Danjuma, Manasseh Zorto, before a Federal High Court in Lagos for allegedly defrauding the former minister and reputed businessman of about N2 billion.
But the planned arraignment could not take place because Zorto was said to be on the run.
When the matter came up for hearing yesterday, the lawyer who represented SFU in court, Chief Godwin Obla (SAN), informed the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, that the police was having challenges in bringing the accused to court.
