Monalisa Chinda and Zik Zulu Okafor, producer of Oasis
Oasis, a fascinating new tele-novela jointly produced by Zik Zulu-Okafor led Zulu Films in collaboration with The Incubator, is set to wow, entertain and educate lovers of quality programmes on TV.
SHOWBIZPLUSng gathered that among the leading and emerging thespians that thrilled and tantalized in this riveting and enthralling soap directed by Abay Esho and written by Vivian Chiji include: Monalisa Chinda, Segun Arinze, Beverly Naya, Tope Tedela and David Nnaji. Others are: Moet Abebe, Maryjane Ugbaja, Ifeanyi Williams, Sean Faqua, Mor Okonkwo among others.
Oasis, which is a sequel to the now rested Heavensgate from Zulu Films also, has Pastor Idowu Iluyomade as the executive producer and is expected to hit air nationwide this October.

Speaking with SHOWBIZPLUSng at a recent world press conference/media preview heralding the launch of Oasis, elated Okafor said the tele-novella was painstakingly conceived and specially written for Nigerians at home and those in the Diaspora.
“Oasis, is not just a soap, it is a complete family package that will educate, inform, entertain and help redirect the ill focus of our youths. It is our special gift to Nigerians who are already bored watching foreign soaps on air every day. Oasis is the new face of Nigerian entertainment on TV…”
Below is the synopsis of the spell binding and suspense-filled soap that took years to conceptualize.
“KK is a cult boy. Irresistibly handsome, cold and dangerous, he has never loved a girl.
When he meets the adorable Paris, he seems to have found his first love.

But, brainwashed by the cultic characters around him, what would have probably been an amazing love would turn out a most turbulent and devastating encounter that will leave Paris blind from KK’s barbaric violence. For her soul pricking disappointment, Paris will denounce God. And the cult boy, KK, will surrender his life and everything to God having escaped a near fatal accident.

When they meet again three years later, KK will be a business man and a roving preacher. And Paris? A blind girl stuck at home, seemingly hopeless.  KK will lie about his name as a blind Paris seems to recognize his voice. He will eventually marry this girl as his gory past haunts him. But on the day Paris gives birth to their baby, her sight is restored as the baby bounces out. Then and then she will discover that her husband was the guy she knew in school as KK. So, why did he lie about his name? What is he trying to hide? Could he be the masked man that raped her?  Now, even the sun will stand still for this mind blowing encounter, a chilling story of love, never told before.”
But Oasis is also about Kaylah Tomi Savage. Only 22 and in love with a First Class Law student ,Oreva Amata, Kaylah finds in Oreva the ideal man of her teenage dreams.

However, when she mentions his name to her mother, Olufunmi, a tragic story of 20 years that evokes the sad memory of her father’s betrayal and mysterious murder in prison will reverberate.

Oreva and Kaylah, the very best of friends and ideal love will walk through a crucible with Kaylah’s sword against the soul of her once heartthrob.

It will be Oreva’s darkest moments. And it will surely be Kaylah’s purgatory.

“Oasis is evocative. It is a timeless lesson for every man. And a memory bell for every woman”, added Okafor, the current national president of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP).
