Leading Nigerian comedian and music
star, Kilnt D Drunk has denied the allegation that he collected money from an
Abuja based church, Christos International, without performing at their event.
The very embittered comedian, in a chat with SHOWBIZPLUSng expressed shock
that a church he agreed to work with based on love is going about maligning and
rubbishing his name.
Speaking on what truly transpired
between him and the church, the entertainer revealed that the fault was from
the church.
“The church in question contracted
me for an event and pleaded that I should help them due to lack of fund.
Ordinarily, I don’t charge N250,000, for shows, but after pleading with me, I
decided to honour them since it was coming from a church. But, the event didn’t
hold on the date they gave me. I was at another show when they called to say I
should come over for their own event. But I reminded them that it was not possible
and besides, that date was not what they told me. I made it clear to them that I
cannot leave that show for their own event. We were still discussing and
looking for ways to settle amicably when they rushed to the Internet to start
maligning and rubbishing my name by lying that I collected money to anchor their empowerment
programme, but failed to show up at the service. I was shocked and speechless
when family, friends, associates and colleagues called to tell me all the nasty
things the church wrote about me.”
Continuing,
the still angry comedian, disclosed that he’s already discussing with his
lawyers on the best way to handle the messy matter legally.
“I’m already
discussing with my lawyers. I don’t deserve this insult from a body that calls
itself a church.
I want to
refund their money, but they must first apologise and retract the statement
that I absconded with their money. Failure to do that, we will meet in court.”
