Laide Bakare has dropped yet another new flick. Entitled Uncommon Alhaja, the shooting of the flick began just a month after the ceremonial launch in Lagos of Jejere, which was graced by personalities from different walks of life.
‘Uncommon Alhaja’ is indeed uncommon
as it educates deeply on principles and personal behaviours.
The new movie, set to be launched in
the United States of America this weekend, Saturday, July 20, however,
discourages judging one’s fellow. Many tend to enjoy faulting other peoples’
personal behaviours or ways of life.
But the movie
discourages this and mirrors how a life devoid of unnecessary meddling can be
worth living.
“We all need second chances in
life. This isn’t a perfect world. We’re not perfect people. Some
of us are probably on our 1000th second chance right now and we are not and
should not even be ashamed to admit it. This is because even though we
must have failed a lot, but it means we have also tried a lot too. This is what
the movie is all about,” stated Bakare, the writer and producer of the flick.
She also acted the lead role of Alhaja Ti O Common, a famous single lady who
indulges in charity apparently to make up for some of her bad choices in
the past. She will always donate to charities in order to address a variety of
shameful transgressions she had indulged in and for which she was roundly and
widely condemned. But she got a second chance when nature brought her together
in romance with the co-lead character, Odunlade Adekola, who had been on
manhunt for her and had vowed to eliminate her for being an instrument to the
death of his (Adekola’s) wife many years ago. The movie features other
Nollywood stars like Fali Werepe, Sunkanmi Omobolanle, Kemi Afolabi, Sola
Kosoko, and many more. The all-white event will take place at NAICOM Community
Centre, Brooklyn, New York.
“We rarely get things right the
first time. Almost every major accomplishment in a person’s life starts
with the decision to try again and again. The only difference between an opportunity
and an obstacle is attitude. Getting a second chance in life is about
giving yourself the opportunity to grow beyond your past failures. It’s
about positively adjusting your attitude towards future possibilities”.

God bless her. She's getting her grooves back, methink. She go sell.
Good story line that will encourage people not to give up in spite of staring failures posing as obstacles.
