ZAFAA,
in the words of its prime mover and founder, Sam Anwuzia, will continue to
research into the development and promotion of African film
industry in order to further strengthen it.
Anwuzia
who spoke with ACTION!, during a recent visit to our Isolo, Okota, head office,
stressed that ZAFAA will maintain and achieve these dreams through sacrifice
and commitment, despite the many challenges confronting it.
“We
are not going to give up until we see our dreams come through. Dreams can be
shared but the dreamer knows how to actualise his/her dreams.
Costly
mistakes were made in the past and we are hoping that we’ve learnt good lessons
from
those
mistakes. ZAFAA is the pride of African entertainment and must be taken away
from
destroyers
so that the industry stakeholders will then realise the importance of its
uniqueness.
Anwuzia
who disclosed that the award would hold at a yet-to-be disclosed venue in the
heart of London this October, maintained that rewarding stars outside Africa,
has made Nollywood films so popular that CNN, BBC and other international media
and broadcasting houses are now creating more viewership and recognition for
the industry.
“These stars are our ambassadors and we are
proud to showcase them. We cannot sell all our products at home. Sponsorship for
ZAFAA Global Awards alongside the awareness are the things that brought me home.
Soon, we’ll be calling for entries. I want to assure you that this year’s
outing will be grand and memorable…”
