The New Day's quest to become the longest-reigning WWE tag team champions of all time continued Sunday at Money in the Bank, as they defeated The Club, The Vaudevillains and the team of Enzo Amore and Big Cass in a Fatal 4-Way match to retain their titles.

There was plenty of chaos in the ring for the majority of the night, as WWE showcased:
Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods were in a precarious position entering Money in the Bank, as Stephanie McMahon ordered that they defend the tag straps against three of the best teams the company has to offer.
The New Day primarily feuded with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson during the buildup to the pay-per-view, as the former New Japan Pro Wrestling tag champs took aim at the jovial trio by attacking them.
That led to The Club and AJ Styles declaring they were ready to run roughshod over the tag division and WWE as a whole, per WWE Universe:
Gallows and Anderson would have represented a major challenge on their own, but adding The Vaudevillains, Enzo and Cass to the proceedings cut into The New Day's chances of keeping their historic title run intact.
As Big E pointed out, The New Day entered the record books prior to Money in the Bank when taking their previous tag title run into account as well:
The New Day narrowly escaped with a victory over The Vaudevillains at Extreme Rules thanks to some outside interference from Kofi, and while they hadn't faced Enzo and Cass until Money in the Bank, the New Yorkers have proved to be among the most dominant teams in the world since making the leap to the main roster.
Although The New Day have grown accustomed to having the numbers advantage, that wasn't the case Sunday thanks to the Fatal 4-Way stipulation, and it led to their most challenging and unpredictable defense attempt yet.
Despite the odds being stacked against them, The New Day once again showed why they are one of the best and most resourceful tag teams in recent memory by keeping their remarkable championship reign going.
While Sunday represented a huge win for The New Day, their time with the title could be running out, as Gallows and Anderson figure to engage them in a feud moving forward, just as they did during the weeks before Money in the Bank.
The New Day's win means the tag division will still run through them for the time being, but all four teams involved in Sunday's match performed admirably and proved that WWE's tag ranks are deeper and more entertaining than they have been in many years.
