Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule (a.k.a) Okey ‘Bakassi’ McAnthony was born on October 23, 1969.
The first of five children of late Mr. Livinus Onyegbule and Mrs. Felicia Onyegbule.
His early education was at Alvan Ikoku Demonstration School, Mbaise Secondary School Imo State and later Federal Government College Port Harcourt.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science & Technology, Port Harcourt.
He is happily married to Ezinne and they have they children
This Engineer became a professional movie actor in 1994 after his national service (NYSC) with Nigerian Industrial Development Bank (NIDB), now Bank of Industry.
As one of the pioneers of Nollywood Okey has starred in over 100 movies from 1994 till date.
A versatile Television and Radio presenter/Analyst.
As an actor and stand-up comedian, Okey Bakassi has played comic roles that brought laughter to our homes, and happiness to our hearts. As a movie producer he has employed several young men and women in his productions and has been a positive role model.
His knowledge of the sciences backed by over two decades of professional experience as an Actor / Comedian and public speaker has exposed him to audiences around the world and 36 States of Nigeria plus Abuja.
In October 2008, Okey Onyegbule was appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Imo State on Entertainment Industry Matters and served diligently till the end of his tenure in August 2011.
He loves sports, travelling and reading.
