This is cheering news for music lovers. After several months of intensive planning, preparations and brain storming sessions Soul Afrik, an Afro Soul Music Talent Show has finally embarked on a quest to showcase an undiscovered afro soul entertainer who will take home 1 million Naira cash prize.
The well applauded show, according to a statement made available to DAYLIGHT.NG by the organisers kicked off with auditions that closed on May 30th 2016.
Shedding more light, the organisers stated that Soul Afrik is a talent competition series open to artistes to specifically allow them showcase their skills and take the stage in front of restaurant audience as well as the entire world.
“Soul Afrik, a product of Hangout Nigeria, aims to produce a niche afro-soul music talent showcase and competition that focuses on African cultural elements such as music, art and fashion of the indigenous people. Soul Afrik will conduct an exciting online audition and selection process to select a final four contestants. Soul Afrik competition performances in four restaurants will be videoed and published online on www.soulafrik.com and YouTube where the world will watch, comment and vote for their preferred contestant. The winner of Soul Afrik talent show will get prize money of one million naira.”
Continuing, the proud organisers added: “Afro-soul music requires raw talent. It is a genre that remains largely unexplored in comparison to others such as hip-hop and pop. Uniquely, afro-soul talent cannot be fabricated with production equipment. This is why afro-soul is considered a divergently powerful genre that cannot be compared to mainstream music, there is no faking this kind of talent!”
Meanwhile, Soul Afrik has also announced the top four finalists who will battle it out for the N1 Million grand prize. They are: Charles, Tetta, Cuebitze and GoldCharles, Tetta, Cuebitze and Gold!
The show sensationally kicked off on June 19th @Bogobir1, while the grand finale holds on July 10 at upscale Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos, amid glitz and glamour.
