– Mikel’s wedding date clashes with Chelsea engagements

 – The defensive midfielder’s agent claims the bride’s family are responsible for choosing the wedding date





Super Eagles Captain John Mikel Obi is furious with his agent for fixing his wedding date during Chelsea’s pre-season campaign.

 Babawo Mohammed claimed the bride’s family picked July 30, for Mikel’s wedding to Hajara Saleh Barde which the longest Chelsea player might not be able to attend in Kaduna as it will collide with his club friendlies.





Apart from Chelsea’s pre-season engagements, Mikel will also be joining the national U-23 side preparing for the Olympic games which will start on August 4, which Mohammed said infuriated his client.

“Mikel is very mad at me, but I didn’t pick the date, in Islam the family of the bride choose the date, I couldn’t force or change it as I would have loved to, personally I would have love to have him around as well” Mohammed told Owngoalnigeria.com.

 It is not uncertain whether the former Lyn Oslo midfielder will be physically present at his wedding for the date or, or it will be postponed. 

Chelsea’s pre-season training starts after the conclusion of Euro 2016 on July 10, and the Dream Team VI are already in camp preparing for the summer games in Rio.--NAIJ.COM
