Dejumo Lewis and Uzor Ngoladi at the reading |
SHOWWBIZPLUSng can boldly say that it was the gathering of family, friends and well wishers at the book reading and signing of Toxic Eucharist, a novel written by Uzor Ngoladi, which took place on March 22, 2014 at Terrakulture Arts Gallery, Victoria Island, Lagos. Veteran actor and arts enthusiast, Dejumo Lewis who graced the occasion had this to say about the book: "It turned out to be a cherished experience for me at this book reading. I could not put the book down till i finished reading it. Thanks for painting a vivid picture of me in Father Desmond had I made it to the Catholic priesthood. I probably could have been worse, being a highly romantic person myself. I have since been myself with a clear conscience and yet a staunch Catholic!"
Toxic Eucharist is available in
leading bookshops nationwide and can also be bought online at www.toxiceucharist.com.
It tells the story of vicious cycle of hypocrisy, deceit and unbelief woven
around the laity and the clergy. The derailed vision of a failed leadership
pollutes the focal point of religion and magnifies a gathering in the name of
self enrichment and profound corruption. Despite the ominous signs of wrath
against wanton apostasy, congregants bear the burden of a manipulated dogma. “Toxic
Eucharist is chilling, gripping and incredible. It is a nonstop fiction till
the last page’, says Ngoladi, who is also an actor.
