Lil Wayne |
Lil Wayne will get no sympathy from his fans or the music community if he dies from a codeine overdose.
Yesterday, Monday, June 13, 2016, rapper Lil Wayne suffered a seizure aboard a flight. The plane had to divert and land in Omaha. The plane was on its way from Milwaukee to California when Lil Wayne had a seizure.
Lil Wayne initially refused treatment from medical officials but when the second seizure occurred the plane had to return back to Omaha and the rapper had to be rushed to the emergency room. Presently Lil Wayne is said to be stable and recuperating
For those familiar with Lil Wayne's medical history, this incident should not be surprising. The Cash Money rapper is an infamous addict of sizzurp- a mixture of cough syrup, soda and candy. Sizzurp is popular in Hip-Hop circles and it is said that the codeine in the cough syrup make the user slow and sleepy.
Lil Wayne can be described as one of the poster boys of codeine abuse in rap music. He has had a celebrated relationship with the drug. His red double cup usually has codeine in it. For a while now Lil Wayne has been off the substance after a near death experience.
On March 12, 2013 Lil Wayne was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after having several seizures on a music video set. He was released the next day only to be found unconscious after experiencing more seizures. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. It was reported that large amounts of codeine was found in his stomach. Lil Wayne's condition was so serious that TMZ reported that he had died. Luckily he pulled through and bounced back. Prior to this scary episode he had a seizure aboard his private jet in 2012.
Lil wayne sued again
Since his near death experience in 2013, Lil Wayne has stayed off 'lean'. However in January, 2016 TMZ revealed that Lil Wayne was back on codeine. "Lil Wayne is back on lean -- despite his close brush with death nearly three years ago -- and it's so bad he's bringing the stuff everywhere he goes.
Sources close to Weezy tell us he started sippin' the sizzurp a few months ago and hasn't even been hiding it by flashing his double cup. He's rarely been photographed without one in recent weeks" wrote TMZ.
From all indication the TMZ story was correct. When Lil Wayne nearly was fighting for his life in 2013 the world held its breath. His millions of fans did not want to see him ago. The music community prayed for Lil Wayne to pull through from the health scare.
I highly doubt that this will not be the situation now. When it was revealed that Lil Wayne was having seizures yesterday, there was little sympathy from him online. Many of his fans were disappointed that he had gone back to drinking codeine. I doubt there will be crying and gnashing of teeth when Lil Wayne dies from codeine overdose.
Lil Wayne is at a low point in his career he needs all of his fans to be with him. Going back to codeine is a stupid move from him. If he dies now no one will pity him. His medical condition was caused by his own hands. He needs to dump codeine before it kills him.-----PULSE.NG
