Some of the famous voices on radio, including Yaw, Lolo and Katherine Obiang are set to take their remarkable careers to the next level in a stage adaptation of Elechi Amadi’s Pepper Soup, this September.
Scheduled
to hold at Terra Kulture from Sunday, September 1, the stage production, which will
be presented every Sunday is produced by Playfactory, 2PM Media and Tuale Naija media.
“I
am so excited about Pepper Soup, being a project manager is a lot of work but
it feels good,” Obiang the OAP cum
actor who has in a space of six months wowed us with her outings in Journey to
Self and Lekki Wives says.
Joined
by fellow radio presenters and colleagues such as Kelvin Abidde (Tuebi),
Lawal Sheriff, Carla Chidiac, Yaw and Lolo,
Pepper Soup tells the story of an up and coming musician, his pregnant
Nigerian girlfriend and a white woman he befriends with grandiose promises. It
all comes to a head when all three people and Yaw’s meddlesome best friend have
to live together for a bit.
And that is not all; producers of the play have
also promised us a special guest appearance.
“You all just have to wait
till September to see what we have for you, I feel so blessed to be working
with this team” Obiang adds.
Pepper Soup is stage managed by Obi Martins and
directed by Olusola Roberts.
