MTN Project Fame fires Ayoka

Project Fame West Africa witnessed another eviction show recently at Ultima studio, in Lekki. This time, it was the turn of another contestant, the ever dazzling Ayoka.
The talent hunt show, which has previously seen the eviction of   Leonard Massaquoi from Sierra Leone, Oluchi Israel, Henry Mcjohn and Gbemisola Rowland of Nigeria, from its academy, is getting tougher and more competitive by the day. Consequently, students now converge to see the live-performance, as a form of recreation.
Due to the closure of Tertiary institutions, in the country, today, students now find comfort in watching the only epoch-making reality TV show “The Project Fame West Africa’’. Statistics has, however, shown that most students from various Tertiary institutions, within Lagos, flock to the studio of Ultima, for the live-performances of contestants, every weekend, to have a feel of the show, have fun and kill boredom.
The influx of youths, which comprise mainly students, to the weekly live-performances/elimination shows, is becoming overwhelming. Being the only wave-making musical reality TV show in the country today, televised on selected TV stations on a daily basis, students have come to find solace in watching the show to keep tabs on the progress and follow up, on what is trending in the academy. This is a way to mitigate the pain of not being in school.
Gone are the days, when students indulged themselves in activities that are not resourceful when schools are on strike.  According to Adenike Akinbode, female undergraduate of the University of Lagos, “an idle man they say is the devil’s workshop, so I have come to find a worthy recreation in following Project Fame and it’s worth every bit of my time”.
Adenike also spoke glowingly about last week’s visit of the likes of Wizkid, KCEE, Iyanya, Tiwa Sawage and Praiz to the academy. For her, watching the established music super-stars mentor the reality show’s contestants was a cheer moment of delight. It is a further endorsement for the show, apart from the possible life-time impact on the aspiring musical talents in the academy.

Since the emergence of West Africa’s most productive reality TV show, MTN Project Fame there has never been an “idle” moment for the students when on strike, especially, for those within the metropolis of Lagos, who avail themselves the opportunity, every weekend, of being a part of the live show and for students across the country to stay glued to their television sets daily.
