Comedian Alibaba took to his Instagram page to share a story of how he nearly lost his wife Mary Akporobome, sometime last year.
The comedian said his wife hasn’t stopped being grateful to God for saving her.
Here’s what he wrote below:
You see that patch, in that lush green? That is one great lesson in THE GRASS MAY NOT BE AS GREEN AS YOU THINK. That patch in the grass, has been there for a year today!!! Ok, so a year ago, my wife was supervising workers as she was chewing cashew nuts. Then she started choking on it. She had had a bottle of water in her hand in the Garage all the while. So when she choked, terry eyed, beating on her chest and trying to force herself to cough, she reached out for the bottle that she thought was the one she had been drinking from.
The lid was a lot tighter than how it was on the bottle she had been drinking from. She tried to unscrew it and at that second attempt to unscrew it,
she turned around to see if there was anyone around to open it and saw the real bottle she was drinking from. And she dropped the tightly screwed one. Anyway, we thank God she did not drink it. She got curious and wanted to know what was in it. It was conc ACID that the workers were using to clean stains off the marble floor during renovations for my 50th birthday June 24th, last year. Everyday, for like a month, and regularly ever since, my wife would be seen gazing at this spot.
She has refused for the dead soil to be removed. She loves looking at it, especially on her birthday, July 11th, last year, my wife went to that spot, looked hard at it, and as the tears built up in her eyes, she said “Thank you God for your continuous miracle in my life. DEM NO REEEEEACH!!!!” And cried even more. So, in retrospect, exactly a year ago, I would have lost my everything and would have, always, for the rest of my life, been mourning before all my birthdays! But as Zakilo will say, God no dey sleep. Domestic accidents kill more than gun violence.
